RadTherm is an advanced Thermal Analysis Software for CAE applications. This package utilizes a state-of-the-art Radiation Module and an extremely user friendly Graphical User Interface for modeling the results of multi-mode heat transfer (radiation, conduction, and convection) and one dimensional fluid flow.

State-of-the-Art-Solvers, - Ultra-fast thermal solver, - The radiation view factor module uses a very fast state-of-the-art algorithm and diffuse multiple bounce is provided within the thermal solver with the radiosity method. , - Advanced Solution Control - The surface temperatures are initialized with a steady state solution and then the simulation proceeds through time with a transient solution over the designated prediction time. The energy balance will be based on linkages of radiation, convection, and conduction. Automatic generation of these linkages is used for conduction and radiation. Imposed heating can be added as a function of time as well as time dependent temperatures for boundary conditions. Environmental effects are also included as boundary conditions , Modeling, - All of the model attributes are entered interactively through the Graphical User Interface except for the meshed surface geometry which is imported. , - SI units are used in the User Interface by default but the user will have the capability to switch to English if preferred. , - The input meshed geometry file formats include Patran (NTL), Wavefront (OBJ), AutoCAD (DXF), Stereo Lithography (STL), FRED (FAC), ACAD (FACET), and others. , - The inputs are temperature, heat rate, convection coefficient, thickness, surface code (e.g. emissivity, solar absorptivity), and a material code (i.e., conductivity, density, specific heat) on a patch (or group) basis. , - A thermal part type menu provides the user with the options for specifying node types (e.g., assigned temperature, calculated, and others). , - Dependent Properties or Boundary Conditions (e.g. time dependent temperature) are imported or created with a curve editor , - A material database is included that can be edited. , Display, - Physical temperature of the model?s surface is displayed on the meshed geometry as a thermal image during the solution process. The image can be rotated and viewed at any direction throughout the thermal prediction simulation. Temperature and radiance output files are automatically created during the simulation thus providing the time-history results for post-processing of the dynamic simulation. , Integration, - RadTherm can be combined with CFD programs such as FLUENT or StarCD to provide a complete set of tools for thermal analysis. Results from FLUENT and RadTherm can be iterated to increase accuracy in both programs.
