Propeller CAD shape [currently available] - Easily generate a suitable propeller CAD shape for your 3D design. One click will export a representative propeller CAD shape in IGES format at the proper diameter and number of blades. Measures of propulsion merit [currently available] - A good designer always compares a design to industry-standard measures of merit. New propulsion criteria are being added, including "transport efficiency". Job Tracker - A new project management utility will allow you to track the time that NavCad is used on your projects. Enhanced definition of hull data - This new utility will help users define significant hull parameters via longitudinal distributions. For example, user entry of sectional areas is used to calculate a proper effective transom area - critical for reliable resistance prediction of semi-displacement hulls. Propeller lift forces - High-speed planing craft are influenced by lift from the propeller. The difficult calculation of the prediction of propeller lift force due to shaft angle (for both planing and propulsion analysis) is in development.

River barge train resistance - A new supplemental calculation for the prediction of river barge trains (flotillas, convoys) has been added. Blade scan analysis - Enter local pitch and chord length at a few radii as measured from a blade scanning device, and this utility will help you determine the propeller"s EAR and hydrodynamic mean pitch. Supplemental calculations - Calculations are now available that are beyond the typical set of resistance and propulsion analyses, now including . The first of these include the prediction of dynamic trim, vessel squat, and synchronous pitching.

New Invert Zoom for all mouse models
TurboCAD Mac v5 offers the new ability to define whether “Scroll In” or “Scroll Out” on the mouse wheel defines “Zoom In” or “Zoom Out”. Formerly, “Scroll In” could only define the “Zoom In” action, but now users can go to the file preferences and invert the Zoom command on the mouse, making it much easier to navigate in and out of a desired area of the drawing.

TC Symbols now display file name
The file name of your TurboCAD Mac symbols now displays when the cursor is passed over a symbol. This makes it much easier to identify, locate, and insert symbols, especially when they look similar in the preview.

Femap - independent of CAD pre-and post-processor from Siemens PLM Software for engineering analysis of the finite element method (FEM) (Finite Element Analysis - FEA). This means that Femap is the link between the user and problem solver - the core of performing calculations in problems of engineering analysis.

System Femap, integrated solver with NX Nastran, is based on Microsoft Windows, part of the Velocity Series product line and is an independent and comprehensive framework for modeling, simulation and evaluation analysis of the characteristics of the product.
